About us
Dear friends, neighbours, and holidaymakers, My name is Adam Ali, and together with my family, I am delighted to welcome you to our new restaurant in the heart of New Milton – The Crown & Cinnamon. Hospitality runs deep in our family – it is truly in our DNA. After the Bangladesh Liberation in the 1970s, my grandparents moved to the UK and began their journey in food and hospitality. My grandfather and father went on to establish Desi-Pub & Indian Restaurants in Kent, where I grew up learning the values of service, tradition, cooking, and flavour. By the late 1990s, I was already walking in my father’s footsteps, later becoming an Indian Head Chef, inspired by the teachings of both my grandfather and grandmother. For over three generations, food and hospitality have not just been our business – they have been our family’s passion, our hobby, and our way of life. Why We Chose New Milton & the New Forest For many years, my family and I spent our holidays around Bournemouth, Dorchester, and the south coast. We always felt a deep connection here – the peaceful countryside, the fresh forest air, and the closeness to the sea gave us the balance and calm we longed for. As Londoners, life was always fast and busy, but in the New Forest and New Milton, we discovered the peace, beauty, and community spirit that truly felt like home. This is why we chose this town to open our restaurant – to share our family’s tradition of Bengali-Indian hospitality with local residents and holidaymakers alike.
